New house in Giggleswick

This new house was built in the grounds of an old property and had the remnants of a previous garden. The front garden is larger than the back and the challenge was to turn this into an attractive approach to the house with plenty of space for parking, without making it look like a car park!
A sweeping drive was formed and extensive beds were planted with a mix of perennials, shrubs and ground cover plants to give year-round interest.
The back garden has a more intimate feel to it, with a patio area next to the kitchen and a sunken gravel area with a water feature that can be viewed from the living rooms.
The owners were keen to attract birds, bees and butterflies to the garden, so plants were chosen to supply flowers, seeds and berries throughout the year. This garden is now establishing well.
