Town garden in Kendal
The high privet hedge around this small town garden was making the house feel dark, while the narrow path to the front door was uninviting. The owners also wanted to incorporate a seat in the garden
The solution was to divide the garden diagonally with a low wall that could be used for sitting on, with a raised bed behind containing a mix of foliage and flowers suited to shade and that give year-round interest. Light coloured Travertine paving and limestone chippings were used to reflect light into the house.
